How To Start Your Internet TV Channel

July 29th, 2010 · No Comments

Step 1: Develop your state mind map so that you know your way.
- What content do you want to have?
- What will be the hours of operation?
- What do you want to get of your TV station?
- When will you be live versus pre-recorded?
- Make a schedule of events and topics.

Step 2: Get a domain
I suggest buying a domain name for this undertaking. TV domain names have gained a great popularity for anything related to a TV station. You should bear in mind that tv does not mean television. It is the extension for Tuvalu.

Step 3: Employ a professional team to make and code a Web site.
- It should be a common website. The difference is in the middle of the screen, there should be a big TV that is broadcasting your video

- Advertise your sponsors

- Set different sections on your Web site where people can surf your products and services, get more information about your company, contact you for more details.

- Make also some changes to your website often to show features present and promotions

Step 4: Set up a dedicated area for filming
As you will do live and pre-recorded videos, you should have an area in your home office (or an off-site office) which is equipped with all the necessary equipment and will look good on film.

Step 5: Buy necessary equipment for recording video and broadcasting live
You can get all of this for about $2000:

- An HD camera is suggested.
- Audio equipment: clipped microphone, wireless audio equipment and headset.
- Lightning: buy some great lights.
- Green screens
- Teleprompter, if you would like to read from a script.
- Connect your camera to your PC and be ready to stream live.

Step 6: Get a good Web site host that can hold the bandwidth and the continuous streaming of video. These are some of good companies:
• EndavoMedia.com
• Veeple.com
• StreamHoster.com
• Rackspace.com
• TalkPointCommunications.com

Step 7: Record content you can load into the station.
You do not need hundreds of hours of content to open your station. You can start with only a few hours of content. Review the ideas for the live events in the earlier part of the chapter for content ideas and things that you can do live or pre-recorded.

Other content ideas:
- Old video recordings.
- Other people’s content that you can use (with permission)
- Testimonials from the customers
- Webcam broadcasting 24/7 (or in specific hours)

Step 8: Bear in mind that you do not need to have content up to 24/7.
- You have two hours of live stuff and commercials and four hours of pre-recorded content every day.
- We let this content repeat for six hours.
- Then we have 12 hours where there is some music and power point presentation.

Step 9: Host some live events
As it has been mentioned above, live events are an excellent sketch. The difference if that you will host your events on your website instead of popping up on someone else’s.

Step 10: Endorse your brand new TV channel everywhere.

- Link it on your Website, social sites and beyond.
- Send out various press releases with such a service as prweb.com
- Collaborate with some other people in exchange for free ads.

Step 11: Create a nick
When your station is becoming more and more popular, you can begin commanding different features and money making opportunities:
• Banner ads on your site.
• Paid advertising.

• High-profile guest interviews.

Today the Internet technologies give us a really unique chance to select what one needs for the best price on the market. It does even refer to entertainment. For instance no need to sit in front of a TV set as streaming tv to your PC is increasing its popularity during the last years.
