Though there are a lot of kinds of entertainment on this planet I mainly prefer playing various computer games. Only this virtual entertainment can entertain me in the right way. I don’t exactly remember when I started playing computer games. Perhaps it was about ten years ago when I got my first game console as a gift for my birthday. It seems to me that it was Dandy. It had a white casing and at that time it was rather a futuristic thing I should say. Then I got my first PC and correspondently I got more opportunities for entertainment. But to say honestly at that time personal computers were rather primitive and nobody considered them to be worthy for entertainment. I remember at that time computers were mainly associated with serious technical projects. People thought that only engineers and scientists could operate computers to solve their professional issues. The first computer games I got acquainted with were rather primitive when compared with modern ones. I mean all parameters such as graphics, plots, sounds and so on. But any way even these old games could entertain anybody properly.

By the way my closer friend has such a rare hobby as collecting old personal computers and certainly old games. He’s a real computer maniac. In fact it’s not difficult to guess that he’s a hacker. Sometimes we play his “ancient” games on his “ancient” computers together when I’m his guest and it always amuses me greatly. Some people think that computer games can’t be an appropriate entertainment for serious guys. Perhaps they think that serious people should only solve puzzles, listen to classical music and certainly play chess. From their point of view video games can only be harmful and even children should avoid them. But I can’t agree with their point of view.

To my mind computer games should be considered to be a certain kind of art like, painting, music, sculpture and so on. People think that cinematography is a real art and they don’t doubt that it’s true. I’m convinced that computer games should also be referred to this category. Many computer games can be perceived as real masterpieces when taking into consideration their unique absorbing atmosphere. Computer games are made by teams of creative people with rather an extraordinary perception of the world. They do their best to entertain us in this way so we should respect their job.

To be honest computer games aren’t so harmful as many people might think. Some movies are more harmful for people especially for kids than computer games from my point of view. It’s known that computer games can help you to acquire new skills and improve your existing ones. They can accelerate your reactions, improve your attention and develop your logical mind. Taking it into consideration we can say that it’s the most useful kind of entertainment, isn’t it?

Films are an unalienable part of our existence and culture. Up to date there has been produced a large number of movies and it caused movie reviews. It is not a secret that many of famous films are inspirations for student film but in some cases the things are right opposite.
